Together, We Go Beyond! Majulah Singapura!

Peiying Primary School celebrated Singapore’s 61st birthday with a meaningful National Day programme centred on the theme “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!” The celebration began with a School Safety Lockdown Exercise and learning on energy conservation, reminding students that going beyond means being prepared, resilient and playing their part in building a safe and sustainable Singapore.

The highlight of the celebration was the NSG and SYF Contingent Parade, which proudly honoured students who went beyond the classroom to represent Peiying in sports and the performing arts. Their dedication, perseverance and teamwork inspired the school community to strive for excellence and give their best in all that they do.

Throughout the celebration, students experienced the values of unity, inclusivity and active citizenship. Reciting the Singapore Pledge in Singapore Sign Language reinforced the importance of embracing diversity, while the performances and activities fostered pride and sense of belonging.

Through their enthusiastic participation and care for one another, our students truly embodied the spirit of “Go Beyond” — standing together as one Peiying family and contributing towards a stronger, kinder and more united Singapore.

Peiying Primary School Showcases AI-Enhanced Mother Tongue Learning at the MTL Symposium 2026

Peiying Primary School was honoured to participate in the Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) Symposium 2026, organised by the Ministry of Education and the Mother Tongue Language Learning and Promotion Committees. Held at the Singapore EXPO, the symposium celebrated the theme "A Garden for Joyful Discovery", bringing together educators, parents and community partners to share innovative approaches to Mother Tongue Language learning.

At the symposium, Peiying showcased 《爱写作@培英》(AI Writing@Peiying), our Chinese Language writing programme that empowers students to become confident and reflective writers. Visitors learnt how students develop their writing through the FAST and FEAST frameworks, receive personalised AI-enabled feedback, and publish authentic e-books to showcase their learning. The programme demonstrated how technology can meaningfully enhance language learning while nurturing creativity, critical thinking and student agency.

We are proud of our student ambassadors, who confidently engaged educators, parents and visitors by sharing their writing journey and explaining the programme with clarity, enthusiasm and pride. Through this meaningful platform, our students demonstrated ownership of their learning and showcased how joyful, authentic and innovative learning experiences can inspire a lifelong appreciation for their Mother Tongue Languages.

United in Diversity, Stronger Together

On 23 July 2026, Peiying Primary School came together to commemorate Racial Harmony Day with the theme, "Our People, Our Tapestry", celebrating Singapore's multicultural identity and the rich traditions that weave us together as one nation.

The celebration began with an assembly programme, where students were treated to an engaging skit on racial harmony performed by our talented Drama Club. This was followed by a presentation that highlighted the importance of racial harmony in Singapore and the role each individual plays in fostering an inclusive, respectful and harmonious society. The programme concluded with a lively Fashion Parade, where students and teachers proudly showcased traditional ethnic costumes, celebrating the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our school community and nation.

The learning continued beyond the assembly programme through a range of meaningful and interactive experiences. During recess, students participated in Active Floor games that challenged their knowledge of the food, customs and traditions of Singapore's different ethnic communities. They also completed online quizzes that deepened their understanding of the significance of Racial Harmony Day and the importance of embracing diversity.

Through these shared experiences, our Peiying students gained a deeper appreciation of Singapore's multicultural heritage and the values that bind our communities together. They were reminded that every act of respect, empathy and appreciation contributes to a stronger and more united Singapore. By embracing our differences and celebrating our shared identity, we continue to nurture Caring Citizens who value diversity and build meaningful connections with others.

P5 Camp 2026

From 16th to 18th July, our Primary 5 students embarked on an unforgettable journey at the MOE Jalan Bahtera Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre. Guided by this year’s theme, "Stand Strong, Choose Right," our resilient Peiying students demonstrated personal growth, leadership, and camaraderie throughout the action-packed three-day camp.

The camp focused on teamwork, empathy, and character building. Trust and cooperation were put into practice during the Low Rope Elements, while the Rock-climbing and Challenge Rope Course pushed students to overcome fears, building unwavering perseverance and self-confidence. Our Peiying students further amplified their courage during Abseiling and Zip-lining sessions, learning to trust both their peers and teachers.

Beyond physical achievements, students connected with the environment. A thrilling night walk on the first evening tested their bravery, while a scenic hike through Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve deepened their appreciation for Singapore's unique mangrove ecosystems. The memorable experience culminated in a vibrant campfire celebration, where students showcased their creativity through performances and reflected on shared victories.

Our students returned to school confident, resilient, and ready to apply these valuable life lessons to all future challenges!

Celebrating Our Nation with Pride

On 11 July, our Primary 5 students had the opportunity to attend the National Education (NE) Show 2026 at the National Stadium. This year's National Day Parade theme, "Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!", celebrates Singapore's journey of progress and encourages all Singaporeans to look ahead with confidence, resilience, and a shared commitment to shaping our nation's future.

From the moment they arrived, our pupils were immersed in an atmosphere of excitement and national pride. They enjoyed the vibrant performances, impressive military displays, and joined thousands of Singaporeans in singing the National Day songs. They also witnessed memorable highlights, including the first-ever indoor drone light show, the largest indoor special effects presentation in NDP history, and the largest civilian participation in the parade segment in over a decade, making the experience truly unforgettable.

Beyond the celebrations, the NE Show deepened our pupils' appreciation of Singapore's journey and strengthened their sense of national identity. It reinforced the values of unity, resilience, gratitude, and active citizenship, inspiring them to cherish Singapore and contribute to a stronger and more united nation.

Annual Track and Field Meet 2026

Peiying Primary School’s Annual Track and Field Meet, held on 24 April 2026 at Yishun Stadium, brought together our Primary 3 to 6 students for a vibrant day of teamwork, perseverance, and sporting excellence. Blessed with bright sunshine and enthusiastic spirits, students participated wholeheartedly in events such as the 8x80m relay, 4x100m relay, sprint races, hurdle relay, ladder running relay, and long-rope skipping relay. Exciting staff and parent races further strengthened the strong sense of community and school spirit.

The day began energetically with a lively Jump Jam session to “Chocolate,” setting a joyful and united tone for the event. Prize presentations after every two events celebrated not only achievement, but also effort, resilience, and sportsmanship. Throughout the meet, students embodied Peiying’s PRIDE values — demonstrating Perseverance in overcoming challenges, Respect towards peers and competitors, Integrity through fair play, Diligence in giving their best effort, and Excellence in striving to improve.

The event also reflected our Student Vision Outcomes, as students grew as Engaged Learners through active participation, Resilient Learners through determination and perseverance, and Leaders of Character by showing teamwork, encouragement, responsibility, and graciousness in both victory and defeat. Supported by teachers, coaches, parents, and peers, the Track and Field Meet was a memorable celebration of athletic growth, character development, and Peiying spirit.

SYF Choir

Peiying Primary School is heartened to share that our Choir has attained a Certificate of Accomplishment at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. This achievement reflects the students’ steady commitment and quiet determination over months of preparation.

Throughout this journey, the choir members showed diligence and perseverance as they worked on their vocal techniques, blend, and expression. Each rehearsal was an opportunity for them to listen, learn and improve together. With guidance from their teachers, the students supported one another and grew in confidence, gradually shaping a performance they could be proud of.

Beyond the music, the experience allowed students to develop resilience, teamwork and a sense of responsibility. They learned to manage challenges, remain focused and encourage their peers, demonstrating the qualities of Engaged Learners and Resilient Learners.

While the recognition is meaningful, what stands out most is the students’ effort, growth and shared experience. Peiying Primary School is grateful for the dedication shown by our Choir members and hopes they will continue to find joy and confidence in their musical journey.

Learning through P.L.A.Y.!

P.L.A.Y Day 1 on 14 April was an exciting and enriching experience for all our students, filled with meaningful learning beyond the classroom!

Our Primary 1 and 2 students visited the Singapore Zoological Gardens and Gardens by the Bay respectively, deepening their understanding of conservation and sustainability through meaningful wildlife encounters and exposure to innovative green spaces. These authentic experiences brought classroom learning to life, sparked curiosity, nurtured empathy, and encouraged responsible environmental stewardship. Through these activities, students grew as Engaged Learners who actively explored the world around them and as Caring Citizens who developed a deeper appreciation for the environment and community.

Meanwhile, our Primary 3 to 6 students participated in the Student Leadership Programme, where they developed resilience, character, and essential leadership skills through age-appropriate activities. From building positive peer relationships to engaging in collaborative problem-solving tasks, students strengthened their self-leadership, teamwork, communication, and decision-making abilities. The vibrant Peiying STARS Carnival further celebrated Growth Mindset in action — Primary 3 and 4 students built confidence and teamwork through dance activities, Primary 5 students demonstrated perseverance and resilience while tackling exciting challenges, and Primary 6 students explored future pathways through meaningful ECG activities. These experiences nurtured students to become Resilient Learners who embrace challenges positively and Leaders of Character who demonstrate confidence, responsibility, and care for others.

Through both programmes, students embraced effort, learnt from mistakes, and developed important life skills that will empower them to contribute meaningfully to the school community and beyond.

A Journey of Discovery and Cultural Immersion in Guangzhou

Our Guangzhou Learning Journey with our Primary 5 students was a meaningful blend of cultural immersion and hands-on learning. We began with a lion head-making activity, where students showed patience, creativity, and care as they worked through each step while gaining a deeper appreciation of Chinese cultural heritage. This was followed by a school immersion at Foshan Experimental School, where they interacted warmly with their hosts, appreciated vibrant performances, toured the campus, and participated actively in a shared music lesson, fostering cross-cultural understanding and communication skills.

Our exploration continued at the Guangdong Museum, deepening students’ understanding of local history and heritage. At the Foshan Ancestral Temple, students were captivated by a lively lion dance and visited the memorials of Huang Feihong and Ip Man, where they learnt about values such as discipline, resilience, perseverance, and respect through the legacies of these influential martial arts masters. They also appreciated the distinctive Lingnan architecture at Lingnan Tiandi and observed traditional pottery-making at Nanfeng Kiln, developing a stronger appreciation for traditional arts and craftsmanship.

A highlight of the trip was the performance “Eternal Love” at Guangdong Romance Park, which brought history and culture to life through engaging storytelling and performances. The journey extended to Shenzhen via high-speed train, where students embraced new challenges during drone flying and robotics activities at DJI. These experiences nurtured their curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills. At Dafen Oil Painting Village, students also experienced the intricate art of cloisonné enamel, broadening their artistic perspectives and creativity.

We return with hearts full of gratitude, enriched by meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. Through this learning journey, our students grew as Engaged Learners as they explored new cultures and ideas with curiosity, Resilient Learners as they adapted to unfamiliar environments and challenges, Leaders of Character through respectful interactions and teamwork, and Caring Citizens with a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures and shared experiences.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri @ Peiying Primary School

Peiying Primary School celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri through a meaningful and vibrant programme themed “Enhancing Understanding, Promoting Harmony and Strengthening School Spirit.” The online celebration created valuable opportunities for students to develop as engaged and caring learners, aligned with the school’s Student Vision Outcomes and P.R.I.D.E values.

Students gained deeper insights into the significance of Hari Raya through videos that encouraged reflection on core values of gratitude, forgiveness and compassion. These learning experiences fostered Respect and Empathy, helping students to appreciate diverse cultures whilst strengthening bonds within the school community. The performances showcased students’ confidence and enthusiasm, embodying excellence and a positive learning attitude.

The programme was enriched by hands-on Hari Raya activities including creative crafting, composing heartfelt messages and participating in guided discussions. These activities cultivated Perseverance and Diligence, as students thoughtfully expressed appreciation for others and demonstrated empathy.

Through this celebration, unity within the Peiying’s community was strengthened, supporting our students’ development as Leaders of Character and Caring Citizens who actively contribute to creating a harmonious school environment.

Performing Arts CCA SYF Showcase

Peiying Primary School proudly presented the Performing Arts CCA SYF Showcase, featuring engaging performances by students from the Angklung, Choir and Dance CCAs. The showcase highlighted students’ commitment, discipline and passion as they prepared for the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF). Through consistent practice and collaboration, students demonstrated the PRIDE values by supporting one another, showing perseverance and striving to give their best on stage.

The SYF Showcase also reflected Peiying’s Student Vision Outcomes. Students embraced creative challenges such as learning new techniques, interpreting music and movements, maintaining rhythm, coordinating as a team and responding to feedback to improve their performance quality. These experiences encouraged students to think creatively, adapt to challenges and continuously refine their skills.

Students grew as Engaged Learners as they explored artistic expression through music and dance. They demonstrated resilience by overcoming performance anxieties and persevering through rehearsals. They also showed responsibility and teamwork as Leaders of Character and Caring Citizens, supporting one another throughout the preparation process.

The experience strengthened school pride, unity and appreciation for the arts while reinforcing perseverance and confidence in striving for excellence.

Fostering Leaders of Character: Student Leaders’ Investiture 2026

On 12 March 2026, Peiying Primary School held its Student Leaders' Investiture Ceremony to formally appoint the new cohort of Prefects and Junior Sports Leaders. The ceremony marked an important milestone in their leadership journey and reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing Leaders of Character anchored in our P.R.I.D.E. values.

Our student leadership programme provides students with experiences to develop confidence, learn to communicate effectively, make responsible decisions and demonstrate integrity, empathy and resilience in serving the school community. Student leaders learn to Model the Way by demonstrating positive behaviour, responsibility and respect in their daily actions. They also practise Encouraging the Heart by recognising the efforts of their peers, offering support and building a caring and inclusive school environment.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Student Leaders’ Pledge and the presentation of badges, symbolising their commitment to serve with integrity, responsibility and dedication.

Celebrating Lunar New Year at Peiying Primary School

Our school community came together for an unforgettable Lunar New Year celebration filled with tradition, talent, and togetherness. This year's celebration provided our students with enriching educational experiences, deepening their understanding of Chinese heritage and cultural values through authentic performances and meaningful activities.

The hall came alive with the wonderful performances by our talented students, who captivated audiences with mesmerising Guzheng melodies, powerful Wushu demonstrations, and graceful traditional dances that brought the festive spirit to the event. Adding to the joyous atmosphere, our teachers delighted everyone with their dance routine to 《新年好马》!

The celebration concluded with a traditional Lion Dance performance, symbolising prosperity, good fortune, and auspicious beginnings for the year ahead.

This Lunar New Year celebration at Peiying exemplified our school's commitment to cultural education and the preservation of meaningful traditions within our diverse learning environment.

Together for Singapore: A Meaningful Total Defence Day

This year's Total Defence Day provided meaningful experiences, helping students understand their vital role in safeguarding Singapore's security and resilience.

Students were enthused by the interactive session with Singapore Police Force Yishun NPC officers whose sharing on real-world experiences that brought national security concepts to life. Their authentic stories demonstrated how every citizen contributes to Singapore's safety.

Our Parents Support Group supported our young CCE Ambassadors to operate interactive recess booths, reinforcing the six pillars of Total Defence through hands-on activities. Students participated in quizzes that created awareness and reinforced their learning, while a themed photo booth provided memorable moments that further strengthened the key messages.

The school conducted Exercise SG Ready (ESR26) to develop students' crisis response capabilities. A power disruption simulation saw lights and fans in designated areas deactivated for two hours, building students' resilience and developing their adaptability and flexibility when facing unexpected circumstances.

Our assembly programme further reinforced our students’ individual and collective responsibilities in maintaining Singapore's strength and security, connecting classroom learning with real-world applications.

The myriad of activities aim to develop our Peiying students into caring citizens who would play their part to build a strong, secure and cohesive nation.

Friendship Week 2026: Be Kind, Be a Friend

Friendship Week is a joyful celebration of kindness, care, and connection in our school. Throughout the week, students took part in engaging activities that foster friendships and develop our students’ social skills, guiding them to build, value, and sustain friendships, and to learn positive ways to overcome challenges in friendships.

The week began with lively classroom bonding sessions, setting the tone for building positive friendships. During recess, the popular Thank You Booth invited students to spread cheer by writing encouraging notes to their friends and buddies. Our supportive PSG were also present to lend support to our event. Our library buzzed with excitement during Let’s Read Together, where students enjoyed friendship-themed stories with their peers, sharing laughter, learning, and a love for reading.

A special assembly skit presented by our talented teachers reinforced the importance of being kind, inclusive, and supportive of one another.

To keep the friendship spirit going, cheerful digital messages displayed around the school continue to remind students that they each play an important role in creating a happy and caring school community.

A Meaningful Start to the School Year at Peiying Primary School

At Peiying Primary School, we believe that the first few days of school set the tone for a successful year ahead. Our Explore, Experience and Engage (E3) Day Programme is designed to welcome students back and support a smooth, confident transition into the new academic year.

Through team-building games, class bonding sessions and the Start It Right! Package, students reconnect with friends, build new relationships and establish positive classroom routines - creating a strong foundation for effective learning and a sense of belonging.

A special highlight is our P1 and P4 Buddy Programme, where caring P4 students guide and befriend their P1 buddies. This meaningful partnership nurtures empathy, leadership and responsibility in the older students, while helping our youngest learners feel safe, supported and confident in their new environment.

With a strong focus on self-management, social skills and teamwork, E3 Day lays the groundwork for positive relationships and joyful learning - bringing our PRIDE values to life as our students embark on a purposeful learning journey together.

P1 First Day

Peiying Primary School warmly welcomed our Primary One cohort on the first day of school in 2026, marking a significant milestone in each child’s educational journey. The school came alive with anticipation and joy as students arrived with their parents, ready to embark on a new chapter of learning, growth, and discovery.

School leaders and teachers were present early to receive and guide the students, offering reassurance and support to help them settle confidently into the school environment. A thoughtfully curated suite of activities acquainted students with classroom routines and school values, nurturing a strong sense of safety and belonging. Through these meaningful experiences, curiosity was sparked, cooperation encouraged, and positive relationships cultivated—reflecting Peiying Primary School’s unwavering commitment to providing every learner with a caring and supportive start to their educational journey.

Parents were invited to attend a briefing session conducted by the Principal, which provided insights into the school’s programmes, student well-being initiatives, and the importance of home-school partnership. The session reaffirmed the school’s commitment to holistic education through close collaboration with families.

As the day drew to a close with smiles and growing confidence, our Primary One students took their first steps towards becoming resilient, engaged learners—united as one Peiying family.
